WHAT IS SHIATSU?
Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese form of therapeutic massage. It combines the theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern Anatomy & Physiology. The practitioner will conduct an assessment according to TCM and use techniques that include pressure, kneading and stretches. During a session the reciever lies either on a mat or low table and remains clothed. Like acupuncture, Shiatsu works to balance the Qi throughout the body, leaving the receiver feeling relaxed and revived. Shiatsu treats the whole body and has both preventative and remedial effects.
