HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Many wishes of health and prosperity to you in 2012! 2012 will bring many exciting landmarks for me-- including my 30th birthday and the 2 year anniversary of my practice! I'm excited for all that the year will bring and I hope you are too! I'd like to make efforts this year to learn what holistic health can mean. Did you know that the word health actually means whole? Here is a quote by Sharon Salzberg, from her book Lovingkindness: "Our deepest health, beyond even life and death, lies in our inherent completeness, integration and connectedness." I believe that when we become aware of ourselves as a total being, rather than fragmenting our different qualities into compartments, we become healthy, happy and full of love. She goes on to say, "In touch with our wholeness, with a heart filled with love, there is no such thing as a stranger, not in ourselves or in others." What a beautiful thing to think of. As the saying goes: "There are many paths up the mountain." There are so many ways to get to where we are going. None are right or wrong. Massage and Asian Bodywork are one path, one way to get to know ourselves. These practices go beyond alleviating pain, they bring our bodies into a more whole state. Until next month, I look forward to seeing you in the New Year! -Susie
